Welcome on the website of our study group and registry for gallbladder cancer; a rare cancer which has traditionally been clubbed together within biliary tract cancers alongwith cholangiocarcinomas. However, there are marked ethnic and geographical variations between the two. Recent insights show that gallbladder cancer should be seen and treated as a different entiety. However, data on patient characteristics and treatment outcomes are lacking. As such, treatment patterns vary significantly across the globe.

Our international study group aims to bridge this gap in knowledge and unify treatment patterns. Involving experts from all across the globe, we aim to use all available data and expertise to create uniform, clear guidelines and ultimately improve the outcomes of patients with this rare form of cancer.

The study is being undertaken under the auspices of International Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association (IHPBA; International Gall Bladder Study Group), which is  a US incorporated tax exempt charity (501c(3))- The Federal Tax ID is 39-2036877.
